Commitment to Accessibility

BGCB is dedicated to ensuring all children have access to our programs. We provide a range of accommodations to support children with disabilities and adhere to the guidelines set forth by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

At the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bend (BGCB), we are committed to creating an inclusive and accessible environment for all Club Members, staff, and visitors. We strive to ensure that everyone, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to participate fully in our programs and activities.

Available Accommodations

Physical Access

While our facilities are 50+ years old, we have navigated their design to enhance accessibility, featuring ramps, elevators, and accessible restrooms. We ensure that areas of our Clubhouses, including activity rooms, the gymnasium, and outdoor spaces, are accessible to individuals with mobility challenges.

Program Modifications

We offer modifications to our programs and activities to accommodate the needs of individuals with disabilities. This includes providing alternative formats, assistive technology, and personalized support to ensure everyone can participate fully. Adapted activities are tailored to meet individual needs.

Support Staff

Our staff undergoes regular training on ADA compliance and best practices for supporting individuals with disabilities. This training equips them with the knowledge and skills needed to create an inclusive environment and provide appropriate accommodations.

Individualized Support Plans


BGCB works with Club Members and their families to develop individualized support plans tailored to their specific needs. These plans ensure that appropriate accommodations are in place to support each Club Member’s participation and success in our programs.

Sensory Accommodations

We provide sensory accommodations such as noise-cancelling headphones, fidget toys, and kick-bands for chairs. These tools help children with sensory processing needs to focus and stay engaged in activities.
