Growing up in Bend, I watched friends attend the Club after school and heard firsthand how much it meant to them and their families. That connection became even more personal when I realized the Club had shaped my own family. My wife attended as a child in Madras and later went on to work at the Corvallis chapter during her college years. We are proud to give back together.
Throughout my career, the part of my work I have always valued most is the chance to genuinely help people and to be present in a meaningful way during important moments in their lives. That same thread runs through my years of coaching youth lacrosse here in Bend. What started as a love for the sport quickly became something much deeper. Every season, what brought me back wasn’t the game; it was watching kids grow. Seeing a young person gain confidence, find their stride, and start to believe in themselves is something I will never take for granted.
That coaching experience also opened my eyes to something harder to look away from: the growing gap between kids who have consistent support in their lives and those who don’t. Access to safe environments, positive role models, and people who are genuinely invested in a child’s future can change everything. The Boys & Girls Club of Bend understands that deeply and lives it every day. I am honored to have the opportunity to stand behind this organization and help extend its reach and impact in our community.
