What drew me to the Boys and Girls Club of Bend (BGCB) is the Club’s commitment to promoting a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all. The neighborhood I grew up in wasn’t the safest, and I wish there would have been an organization like the Boys & Girls Club available for me. I send my daughter to BGCB because I want her to have exposure to all walks of life, learn kindness and respect, and feel safe along with the educational support.
Occupation: Accounting Manager/CPA at Deschutes County
Jana joined the Boys & Girls Club of Bend (BGCB) Board in December 2017, serving as Treasurer (2018 to 2021) and Vice Chair (2021 to 2022). Jana’s daughter is a BGCB club member.
Jana, a CPA, currently works as the accounting manager at Deschutes County, supervising the payroll, accounting, and financial reporting teams. Before joining the County, Jana was an auditor for ten years serving a wide range of clients: publicly traded companies, small and medium-sized companies, non-profits, and municipalities.
Jana was born and raised in Pasadena, Texas, and went on to play college softball at the University of Texas at Dallas while obtaining her BS in Accounting and MBA. Jana has resided in Bend with her partner and daughter since 2016. She enjoys the breadth of activities Bend offers, her favorites being snowboarding and mountain biking.
