Mark Takehara

Interim Executive Director

Mark is currently serving as our Interim Executive Director. He has over 15 years of executive leadership experience, primarily with youth development and education. He started his non-profit career as a volunteer with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest County, and his relationship with the Club continued to grow. His experience with the Boys & Girls Clubs led him to a career working with youth.  Mark has served as the Executive Director with Big Brothers Big Sisters as well as Seattle’s largest youth mentoring organization, Community for Youth.  Mark was also the first President of Hope Chinese Charter School, Oregon’s largest Chinese immersion school serving students in grades K-8.  During his time as President, Hope Chinese Charter School was named the #1 Charter School in the state of Oregon as well as the top public elementary school.  Most recently, Mark served as Executive Director of Young Entrepreneurs Business Week.

Mark holds an MBA from the A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management from the University of California-Riverside and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a minor in Chinese from Brigham Young University.  Mark and his wife have been happily living in Oregon since 2013 with their two dogs, a Beagle and Australian Shepherd.
