The Boys & Girls Clubs of Bend provides a space for teens in our community to grow and develop into the leaders of tomorrow. Programs in the Teen Center focus on leadership development, career or college readiness, practical life skills like money management, social emotional health, and so much more. Two of the most impactful programs run exclusively within the Teen Center are Keystone and Youth of the Year.
Keystone is Boys & Girls Club of America’s (BGCA) premiere teen character and leadership program. The program helps to develop good character and positive leadership skills for young members ages 14-18. Teens learn the value of good citizenship and community service and are encouraged to participate in activities in four key focus areas: community service, academic success, career preparation and teen outreach.
Youth of the Year is an annual year end program where teens run a campaign to explain why the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bend has shaped them into the leader they are now. Candidates run against each other to earn a college scholarship before moving on to the state and even national level.
Teens will spend the summer doing engaging and fun national programs as well as hiking, mountain biking, and attending limited field trips. For more information about signing your teen up for the summer please see the Summer Program page.
